The Manager, Visual Media is a key member of the Keck Medicine of USC Marketing & Communications office's Content team, and a leader who brings considerable experience to the planning and development of visual media content both photo and video. A leader with strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, the Manager, Visual Media mentors junior creators to help them reach full potential, setting goals and enforcing performance standards. They work directly with clients to advise, create and modify visual media content that advance the needs of the health system. In addition, this role oversees the digital visual content archive utilized by the Marketing & Communications office, ensuring that photos and video are organized in an effective manner. The Manager, Visual Media is able to interpret creative direction from clients and leadership, especially as it pertains to larger marketing strategies and initiatives. This position requires an ability to collaborate with marketing and creative teams to present photo and video content in new and creative ways to support the Keck Medicine enterprise.
Guides the development of visual media content (photos & videos) that communicate the key messages of Keck Medicine of USC, ensuring they are strategic to the organizations mission and are consistently delivered on time and on budget. Creates content for both digital and print use
Lead visual media direction for major publications and initiatives of Keck Medicine of USC.
Oversees, edits and coordinates the work of other visual media staff and vendors for print, digital and email publications, ensuring content is in line with marketing strategies and key initiatives of the health system. Ensures accuracy and completeness of projects
Plans and supervises development of visual media content, such as photos & videos of patients, physicians and locations. Schedule and coordinate all aspects of visual media content production in order to meet all applicable deadlines.
Responsible for oversight and also creates, manipulates and designs computer-generated photographic images using basic digital imaging techniques, illustration, and/or presentation software.
Make recommendations for future visual media content development and distribution.
Oversees photo/video archive for the Keck Medicine of USC enterprise, ensuring that content is appropriately tagged for ease of retrieval.
Hire and oversee work of staff photographer/videographer, interns, vendors and freelance creators.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's degree Fine Arts, Photojournalism or a related field
8 years Experience in a photography/videography role,
Demonstrated effectiveness in verbal and visual communication skills, initiative, project management and client service.
Strong skills in all areas of visual media production and organization, including knowledge of photo and video production procedures, practices, techniques, equipment, terminology and archival strategies.
Proven track record of managing integrated visual media campaigns.
Ability to manage a budget for visual media services.
Master's degree Fine Arts, Photojournalism or a related field degree highly preferred
Supervisory experience in a corporate environment
Prefer proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Premiere. Requires mastery of all pertinent programs in Microsoft Office suite.
Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only
The annual base salary range for this position is $95,680.00 - $158,230.00.
