Position Summary
The Marketing Optimization & Integration team in the Office of Alumni Relations & Development (OAD) works closely with cross-functional teams to use industry-leading technology to deliver omni-channel campaigns that reach constituents on their channel of choice, at the right time, with the right content. The Marketing Strategy & Enablement team is composed of three teams: Marketing Analytics & Performance, Marketing Content & Creative, and Marketing Optimization & Integration.
Reporting to the Associate Director, Marketing Initiatives in the Office of Alumni and Development (OAD), the Digital Experience Ambassador is a critical member of the Marketing Strategy & Enablement team.
The Digital Experience Ambassador is responsible for engaging constituents of the institution on a personal (one-to-one) level, primarily through digital channels. The primary objective of this role is to build and maintain strong relationships, promote philanthropic engagement, and ultimately solicit support to advance the mission and goals of the University.
This position offers a unique opportunity for a motivated student to gain valuable experience in fundraising and digital engagement while contributing to the institution's mission and sustained success.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Initiate, develop, and maintain regular, personalized and compelling communication to engage and solicit alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and friends through various digital channels, including email, phone, text messaging, and video messaging.
Conduct one-to-one virtual meetings or phone calls to grow knowledge of constituent's interests, and to discuss fundraising initiatives and opportunities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records in the institution's database, documenting all interactions and communications.
Actively implement best practices in constituent engagement, solicitation, and stewardship.
Perform additional related duties as required.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or its equivalent required. A minimum of three years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
Must be a current student at Columbia University, committed to the institution's mission and values.
Proficiency in using digital communication tools, including email, text messaging, and video messaging.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage donors effectively through digital channels and by phone.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain positive relationships.
Strong active listening skills.
Ability to adapt to multiple, changing priorities and work effectively in a dynamic environment.
Ability to maintain the highest standards of ethics and confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred.
