The Director of Marketing and Communications for the College of Pharmacy, who will report to the Dean and manage the marketing coordinator and web communications specialist, provides strategic communications and marketing leadership, vision and direction for external communications across the university, state and profession. The Director of Marketing and Communications is responsible for leading college advertising and marketing efforts to a variety of audiences including prospective students, alumni, and pharmacy professionals, developing materials and interacting with internal and external clients to deliver the College of Pharmacys messages to key stakeholders; supervises and executes production of printed and electronic College of Pharmacy materials and publications; builds, maintains and projects a consistent brand throughout all aspects of College of Pharmacy marketing and communications initiatives; proactively searches for ways to promote College of Pharmacy stories and events; conducts interviews, researches topics, and writes articles along with editing all copy; plans and supervises photography and print production; manages the communication budget; researches, writes and/or edits press releases; produces and manages content on digital and social media outlets; manages the college website and is responsible for all content, changes and messaging; contributes on production of videos; manages all external vendors relating to communication and marketing efforts; assists with special events, media events and college activities; interacts with administrators and faculty experts in the collection of information for use in publicity and media relations; oversees all college social media accounts; works cooperatively with other health science communicators and serves as principal liaison for the college with University Communications.
Required Qualifications: Bachelor's level degree in Journalism, Communications or related field. Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience is required. Experience in market plan development/execution, communications planning, marketing/communications project management and execution, and budgeting. Strong copywriting skills are a requirement.
Desired Qualifications: Knowledge and familiarity with higher education; advanced graphic design skills; experience with Drupal, Adobe PhotoShop and InDesign; and ability to lead and manage a high-performing team in a collaborative and results-oriented manner.
The pay range for this job profile is $110,000 - $144,000. The offer for this position will fall within this range based on internal equity, unit's available budget, and the candidate's qualifications.
The College of Pharmacy believes in a healthy work/life balance, therefore, the work arrangement for this position is hybrid (i.e., remote and in-office), subject to change based upon the needs of the organization and as determined by College Leadership.
