The Digital Marketing Associate is a key role on the digital marketing team, with primary responsibilities around email marketing and automation; website content updates, optimization, and website search; and providing support for marketing analytics and insights. They will coordinate with NACD teams to optimize the email marketing and automation processes, and report on engagement, performance, and insights surrounding marketing campaigns. The Digital Marketing Associate should be able to draw insights from engagement trends, for members and nonmembers, and recommend and implement improvements. These efforts will aid in growing NACD’s digital presence and attendance at events, and membership growth, to effectively engage and retain members; this role is integral to the success of NACD digital marketing. Ultimately, the Digital Marketing Associate should be able to effectively use digital channels to educate, increase awareness and drive engagement for our members.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Email Marketing Automation
Responsible for executing email marketing strategies, including email campaigns and one-off emails, landing pages, and forms for lead generation/inquiries
Maintains responsive Marketo-based email templates, landing pages, and forms, while troubleshooting issues, and staying abreast of technology advances
Suggests new ways to attract prospective members, engage current members, increase email deliverability, and optimize open and click-through rates
Creates, tests, and deploys landing pages and transactional and promotional email campaigns using Marketo
Tests, analyzes, and reports on email campaign performance on a recurring basis. Identifies trends and opportunities for improved open, click-through, and conversion rates
Champions best practices for email governance
Website Content Updates, Optimization, and Website Search Execution
Responsible for maintaining and updating content/web pages for all NACD website properties, with the goal of improving the member experience
Collaborates cross-functionally to create new website pages and optimize existing web pages
Identifies opportunities to improve/innovate the user experience with our digital content by adopting leading practices in content taxonomy, curation, effective web language, and search
Works closely with key product stakeholders to ensure that digital content assets are effectively deployed, maintained, and archived
Recommends content and webpage updates for SEO optimization
Implements and maintains internal website search strategy and functionality to optimize member experience
Marketing Analytics and Insights
Analyzes and provides suggestions to improve/optimize email marketing performance and campaigns, paid and organic web traffic, social media, email, and paid advertising metrics
Liaises with the Data Analytics and Operations team on new analytics reporting requests
Develops and distributes monthly reports and insights on all marketing channels and tactics, including trends and opportunities for improvement
Performs other duties as assigned
A bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, new media, or a related field and a minimum of three years of proven experience in digital marketing with a focus on email marketing (Marketo) is required. Email marketing automation experience is preferred. Must have experience with managing external designers and vendors. Strong project management experience is required. Knowledge of paid digital advertising is preferred. Ability to deliver creative content, grasp future trends in digital technologies, and act proactively required. Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels preferred.
